Conference Theme: Human Rights, Dignity, and Justice: Psychological Science, Practice, Policy, & Equity

The International Council of Psychologists announces the ICP 2027 Biennial Conference to be held in person at the American University of Cairo, Egypt October 16-20, 2027.
This conference will highlight the contributions of psychology and related fields that support human rights, dignity, and justice.
Participants are invited to submit abstract proposals related to the conference topic of Psychological Science, Practice, Policy, & Equity as it relates to one of the following conference sub-themes:
Environmental Justice
Psychological responses to environmental inequities, including water and food insecurity, climate-related displacement, extreme heat exposure, and ecological degradation. Emphasis on environmental rights and data justice as they relate to environmental measurement, monitoring, interpretation, and decision-making.
Accessibility & Inclusion
Disability justice; access to education, healthcare, mental health services, and digital technologies; inclusive/universal design; and culturally responsive innovations that reduce structural barriers across the lifespan.
Gender, Diversity, & Intersectional Human Rights
Psychological science and practice addressing gender equity, sexual and gender diversity, racial and ethnic justice, migration status, and intersecting identities, centering dignity, safety, and empowerment.
Participatory & Community Led Frameworks
Co-created research, community-based participatory approaches, and community psychology, including decolonial and anti-oppressive methodologies and frameworks, Indigenous and local knowledge systems, and ethical partnerships that redistribute power and advance distributive justice in psychological science and practice.
Structural Transformation
Psychological approaches, including liberation psychology, to dismantling systemic inequities related to poverty, conflict, colonial legacies, race, religion, and economic vulnerability, fostering belonging, social repair, and collective healing.
Topics that don’t fit exactly within these subthemes will also be considered.
The official language of the conference is English. All Abstracts, Papers, Posters, Workshops, and Presentations must be in English.
For student first-authored posters, please indicate in the submission portal if you would like to be considered for a student poster prize.
