We are excited you are coming to the Netherlands and Rotterdam!  We have planned three social activities under the auspices of ICP, and are happy to offer more suggestions for time on your own.

April 3 – The Hague

 

The Hague is a short train ride from Rotterdam (30 minutes, 5 Euros).

The Hague is the seat of the Cabinet, the States General, the Supreme Court, and the Council of State of the Netherlands. King Willem-Alexander officially lives in the Huis ten Bosch and works at the Noordeinde Palace together with Queen Máxima. Most foreign embassies in the Netherlands are in the Hague, which is also home to the headquarters of many Dutch companies.

The Hague is known as the global hub of international law and arbitration. The International Court of Justice, the main judicial arm of the United Nations, is based in the city, as are the International Criminal Court, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Europol, and approximately 200 other international governmental organizations. The name “The Hague” is commonly used metonymically to refer to either of the international courts that reside in the city.

The Maritshuis, an art museum houses many well known Dutch artists.

April 4 – ICP Conference Dinner

 

Rodin Café Restaurant stands out in the vibrant culinary landscape of Rotterdam, showcasing a unique blend of French and Dutch cuisine that is both visually appealing and deliciously satisfying.

April 5 – Small Group Dinners

 An innovative opportunity to get to know your ICP colleagues better. We will offer sign up sheets for small dinner groups (up to 8) who will meet to be able to discuss and enjoy a Rotterdam meal. We will have sign up sheets with conversation themes.

April 6 – Group Excursion to Kinderdijk!!

Join ICP colleagues on a fun outing Sunday Morning. We will take a water taxi down the river to the area know nas Kinderdijk. The windmills of Kinderdijk are one of the best-known Dutch tourist sites. They have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.

We leave at 10:00 am on the water taxi, and enjoy a guided tour of the windmills. Then you can return at your leisure – as early as 12:30 or you can spend more of the day walking in this beautiful setting.  READ MORE
