SYMPOSIUM, DISCUSSION, PAPER, and POSTER Submissions
Submission format: Submissions are made online. When you click the green button below you will be redirected to the “ConfTool” registration site. All submitters need to register for an account on ConftTool for abstract submission and conference registration.
Be sure to read the instructions below for abstract submission. You are asked for two beginning sentences to summarize your presentation.

Symposia
Symposia (55 minutes) consist of a moderator (chair), 3-4 speakers and a discussant (optional). The symposium must focus on the theme of the conference Social Inclusion and Migration and must address one or more of the focus areas of ICP2025: Economic Insecurity, Environmental Justice, Identity, Systemic Effects on Health/Mental Health (see list of focus areas and subareas here – bottom of this page).
Submitting an Abstract for a Symposium
The submission form requires selection of topic area; name, affiliation, and email of the chair, all speakers, and the discussant, Symposium title and Speaker presentation titles; Symposium and speaker abstracts.
Format:
- Symposium Title: 10 word maximum, each word capitalized
- Symposium Long Abstract: copy and paste the following format for the beginning of your up to 300 word long abstract-
Aim: One sentence describing the primary focus of the symposium and how each speaker will contribute
Main Point: Discuss what the central questions are that the symposium will address, the main take-away points
- Symposium Short Abstract: Combine Aim and Main Point in a 50 word summary
- Speaker Titles: 10 word maximum, each word capitalized
- Speaker Abstracts: 50 word maximum
Discussion Panel/Roundtable
A Discussion Panel consist of a chair and 3-4 panelists (55 minutes). The Discussion Panel must focus on the theme of the conference Social Inclusion and Migration and must address one or more of the focus areas of ICP2025: Economic Insecurity, Environmental Justice, Identity, Systemic Effects on Health/Mental Health (see list of focus areas and subareas here – bottom of this page).
Each Panelist will make short, introductory remarks from their perspective. This will be followed by interactive panel discussion and discussion with the audience.
Submitting an Abstract for a Discussion Panel
The submission form requires selection of topic area; name, affiliation, and email of the chair, and all panelists, Discussion Panel title, and Discussion Panel abstracts.
Format:
- Discussion Panel Title: 10 word maximum, each word capitalized
- Discussion Panel Long Abstract: copy and paste the following format for the beginning of your up-to-300 word absract
Aim: One sentence describing the primary focus of the discussion and how each panelist will contribute
Main Point: Discuss what the central questions are that the discussion panel will address, the main take-away questions or points
- Discussion Panel Short Abstract: Combine Aim and Main Point in a 50 word summary
Paper
A paper presents the results of a study or series of studies, or presents a perspective or point of view. Paper topics must focus on the theme of the conference Social Inclusion and Migration and must address one or more of the focus areas of ICP2025: Economic Insecurity, Environmental Justice, Identity, Systemic Effects on Health/Mental Health (see list of focus areas and subareas here – bottom of this page).
Submitting an Abstract for a Paper
The submission form requires selection of topic area; name, affiliation, and email of all authors, and the following: Paper title; long and short abstracts.
- Paper Title: 10 word maximum, each word capitalized
- Paper Long Abstract: copy and paste the following format for the beginning of your up-to-300 word abstract-

Main Point: Discuss what the central questions are that the symposium will address, the main take-away points

Posters
Posters can be on any topic in psychology related to the ICP mission. Posters can be conceptual (e.g. describe the development of an idea, model or hypothesis) or empirical (e.g. describe a research study or set of studies). Posters will be presented during hour-long interactive sessions, during which authors will be able to discuss their results with participants .
Submitting an Abstract for a Poster
The submission form requires name, affiliation, and email of all authors, a title, and two abstracts: one up to 300 words, and one up to 50 words.
Format:
- Poster Title: 10 word maximum, each word capitalized
- Poster Long Abstract: copy and paste the following format for the beginning of your up-to-300 word long abstract-
Aim: One sentence describing the aim of your presentation
Main Point: One sentence describing the major “takeaway” from your presentation (e.g. primary finding for a research study or
primary idea for a concept paper, or primary finding from a literature review)
- Poster Short Abstract: Combine Aim and Main Point in a 50 word summary

All Student First Authored Submissions must be accompanied by confirmation from a faculty member familiar with the student’s work. Download endorsement form here. Have your faculty complete and sign the form and then email it to icpincinfo@gmail.com with subject line: ICP2023-StudentName.
Student Presentation Awards: All presentations with student first authors will be considered for presentation awards.
